M.D. Geist

I'm making M.D. Geist the first anime I write about because it's somehow both the easiest to go over yet also completely incomprehensible. If I were to ever describe an anime as being "things just happen" it would be this.

It's notoriously not very good, and I can't exactly argue against that in anyway; and yet I love it. It's honestly one of my favorite movies to watch. Pretty much any bit of the backstory that's important to the world is given in two brief text crawls, one on a black background, and the other on this extremely uncomfortable close up of Geist (who will from here on be referred to as Mister Geist).

The entire film may as well be scene after scene of Mister Geist being a true Sigma Male, showing off how badass he is. Anytime Mister Geist isn't on screen (which isn't often), you should be asking "Where's Mister Geist?"

I'd say you should just go watch the movie, and not let me spoil it, but I don't even know how to spoil it. The story may as well not exist. Everything exists just to get to the next action scene, but there's barely anything between the action scenes either. You're usually just placed there to watch Mister Geist kill someone. This is the entire movie. It's this for around 40 minutes give or take. This movie has lived in my head ever since I first saw it. I have nothing but love for it. Also the music is genuinely fantastic. Seriously. There's also a pretty decent amount of gore, nothing overwhelming but still enough to be notable.

It really is just the anime version of an 80s B action movie. If you wanna watch some dumb shit with friends, I strongly recommend M.D. Geist. Even better, add in it's even more baffling sequel. I genuinely almost threw up laughing.
