Peripeteia

Only a select few games have stuck out to me quite like Peripeteia has. It's been a little bit since I've played it, but I think about it constantly and plan to revisit it soon.
Peripeteia is not a game that everyone will like. In fact, I don't think I could recommend it to most people, despite the fact I think it is genuinely one of my favorite games ever, even in early access. So much of this game is unaccessible to the average person. Everything is jagged, level design is overwhelming, combat is a struggle - but all of this is a positive in my eyes. The game set out for a style, and it pulls it off so well. It's a video game ass video game, and that's exactly why it rules. You have so much freedom with ways to approach everything. But I think the game is even just a feast to look at. It has such a standout art direction that I absolutely adore.
The characters, despite there only being a few named ones, are all wonderfully enjoyable and weird. Marie, the player character, is pretty easily just one of my all time favorites. Her design is immediately eye grabbing, and she's an easy character to say "she's just like me fr" about. Her dialogue in the game is always extremely enjoyable. At that, the dialogue in the game is always great to read, even if it's a little edgy at time. In a way, I actually think that adds to the appeal. Peripeteia is a game that could only exist if made by someone a little weird with it, and I absolutely love what they've made. I'm so excited for what the future of this game has.
This is a shorter page, but I'll be re-writing this whole thing soon. I just wanted to have at least something about a game I love.
